Amanda (Xiao) Ju is a PhD Candidate in the Visual and Cultural Studies programme at the University of Rochester, New York. She received her BA in Art History from Barnard College and her MA in Visual and Cultural Studies from the University of Rochester. Her research and teaching interests include modern and contemporary art in China, international socialism, (post-)socialisms and feminist theories. She has written for Caa.Reviews, Heichi Magazine, and InVisible Culture. Ju has received several awards, such as the Celeste Hughes Bishop Award for Distinction in Graduate Studies, University of Rochester, in 2019 and the Art History Distinctive Senior Thesis, Barnard College, Columbia University, in 2015.
