This Cairo born architect of Italian heritage, began his training as an apprentice in the Allgemeine Osterreichische Baugesellschaft, an Austrian contracting company. This training prepared him for his later work as a civil-engineer in a British-Egyptian company. In 1927, after passing a professional examination at the Ministry of Public Works, he was hired to work on Cairo's couthouse. By the 1960s Del Burgo was well-established in the Egyptian architectural scene.
