Frank Matero

Frank G. Matero is Chair of the Graduate Programme in Historic Preservation at the Graduate School of Fine Arts as well as Director and founder of the Architectural Conservation Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania. Since 1988 he has been on the faculty as lecturer in Architectural Conservation at the International Centre for the Study of Preservation and the Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) in Rome and Senior Lecturer for Restore, New York City. He has consulted on a wide range of conservation projects including the archaeological sites of Mesa Verde, Casa Grande, Bandelier, and Çatalhöyük in Turkey. His numerous publications include forthcoming books on the technical history of the stone industries of North America and a history of archaeological site preservation in the American southwest.
