Sumet Jumsai

Dr. Sumet Jumsai's works have appeared in various international publications and exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale 1996. He is possibly best known for the design of the Robot Building in Bangkok (1986) which was selected by the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (LACMA) as one of the 50 seminal buildings of the century, and which forms part of the museum's permanent collection after a world-wide travelling exhibition beginning in 1998 called End of the Century.

He studied at the University of Cambridge, and later served there as a faculty member in the Department of Architecture.

He is also painter, social worker, conservationist and author. His best known book, NAGA, Oxford Univ. Press 1988, deals with the origin of civilization in the Asia-Pacific region.
