LUMS: Of Grids and Hexagons

The Lahore University of Management Sciences was initiated in the early 1990’s , and today after more then three decades the seamless integration of the LUMS education complex buildings is what that one notices in the first study of this huge facility. Definitively there have been phases of new buildings added to the school campus as the academia encompassed other faculties to its program. But the language of design and construction remains the same. No doubt one of the best projects of Habib Fida Ali - a project that he worked on for more then 30 years; wherein he masters his stroke on linearity, orthogonal lines and juxtaposition of brick construction methodology with concrete.
