Fathy discusses global poverty in this memorandum and points out the fact that two thirds of the world's population resides in industrially underdeveloped countries. Furthermore, he analyzes the problem in regard to architecture by leading into a discussion that modern productions from industrial development and architectural and engineering services are largely not available to such countries and thus greatly effect residential housing construction.
