As'ad Pasha al-'Azm was the governor of Hama from 1740-1743/1154-1156, and of Damascus thereafter. He earned the favor of the Ottoman administrator and was made governor (wali) of Sidon, then Hama, and then Damascus. He was killed in 1757/1171. His father, Ibrahim Pasha al-'Azm, had also been a governor.
