These are a group of nine reproductions of drawings (diazotypes, prints, and/or photographs), measured and drawn by students and staff of the School of Architecture, Baghdad University, where Mohamed Makiya was one of the founders, and first professors of the school. These prints were received together by the Aga Khan Documentation Center, MIT Libraries, in a blue envelope labeled: Baghdad River Front Survey, as part of the Mohamed Makiya Archive. They are illustrative of one of Mohamed Makiya's beliefs regarding foundations of instruction and valuable experiences for students of architecture, to intimately know the built environment surrounding them, which he employed in his teaching at this first in Iraq schools of architecture.
