Hurghada is one of the areas that has the highest rate of internal and external tourism; this had led to the growth of touristic investment in and around Hurghada. One of the most important places is the El-Gouna Resort, and especially the area of Kafr El-Gouna. This project started in 1992 when a residential complex was needed for a group of employees working in tourist hotels in the area and so, it was necessary to find a living community for them suitable for the surrounding environment. The seventy units, after completion, were found completely consistent with the surrounding environment. This has led to the use the place for tourism and an alternative solution had to be found to house the employees housing outside of Kafr el-Gouna. The tourism development operation for the area began with the addition of other residential units, chalets, hotels, shops, bazaars, and cafeterias, as well as a museum, theater and health club. Architects Rami El-Dahan, Soheir Farid and Ahmed Hamdy. (Taken from English summary on page 9)
