The commercial nature of the project limited the scope of materials used. The design philosophy was to have an overall strong frame of a specific striking colour, with the glazing, aluminium and balcony systems in contrasting greys. A diagonal grid was incorporated within the concrete shuttering to give a vernacular design effect at low cost. The client required three flats per floor which resulted in a non-symmetrical solution of the plan form and terracing system.
