Pearl Continental Resort and Conference Hotel
Murree, Pakistan
The hotel is on a ten acre site in the Murree hills of Northern Pakistan. The design for the hotel was inspired by the context and the characteristic terracing used in hill architecture. The building was developed as a series of five blocks, each one oriented according to the contours of the land. At each juncture of these blocks a vertical circulation area was created to bring in light and to generate views towards the valley. The building structure is reinforced concrete frame with block masonry infill. The external wall finish is plaster and stucco, while the roof is a standing metal seam system.
