This “immeuble de rapport” named the Sabet Building was designed by Antoine Selim Nahas (1901-1966), who was very active in Egypt and in Lebanon from 1934 to 1965.
The architect features here a Deco building with ornamental sobriety emphasizing curving forms such as balconies and minimal openings to the exterior.
The main facade is notable for the original central element made of stone in checked patterns, a grid structured in square forms containing a series of mosaics. We found the same decorative design at Nabatat Street (16-18), another residential building designed by Antoine Selim Nahas.
