Espriss Café
Tehran, Iran

This small café of around 28 m2 is located in front of the Iranian Handicrafts Organisation building in a location famous for handicraft shops, inspiring the transformation of traditional elements into an architectural interior space. An integrated geometry continues from outside to inside, introducing a morphology of brick and light. The turquoise blue glazed bricks are arranged in an pattern of brick-laying that was created by a 3D diagram, which introduces a visual variation so that the placement of customers is significant: they each have individual perceptions on the composition of colours. The lighting is formed by the lamps placed in between the joints of bricks, inspired by traditional Iranian architecture.
