This is part of an ongoing project being implemented in different stages involving the conservation, protection, interpretation and presentation of the Hisham Bin Abdelmalek palace complex built by the Umayyad caliphs in the early 8th century AD. The project included building a 1/10 scale model of the Grand Bath Hall that is placed in front of the original for visitors; the development of a portion of the palace premises to be used as a visitor centre; the renovation of an exisiting building for use as an interpretation centre and to house visitor facilities; the development of the site entrance and appropriate signage throughout the site; and the dismantling of inappropriate interventions.
