Established in the 16th c., the L-shaped tanneries is accessed from Bab Maqabar It is significantly smaller than the more famous Chouara Tanneries in Fes or the Bab Debbagh Tanneries in Marrakech. The water from the tanneries come from the skundo (squndo) water system(1) in the medina.
