Jaam Tower is a 32-storey office and commercial complex adjacent to Shariati Avenue, the historic north-south artery of Tehran connecting the Shemiran area to the city centre. The building is composed of two volumes: a horizontal commercial platform on two levels, and a vertical office tower of 23 stories. The complex has seven underground parking levels, a mechanical room, and helipad. It uses a modular system to allow for the gradual transformation of the horizontal and vertical volumes. The simple cubic modular form is broken down and stacked back up with a pyramidal outline that allows lower floors to have park views and doesn’t block the flow of light and air.
