Part of a meat-processing facility but at a remote end of it, an old building was going to ruin. The client did not need more space, so the architects proposed that the ruined building be salvaged, along with the pine trees, as an administrative building. Reconstructed and adapted, the new building that emerged respects the building’s origins by preserving some elements, such as the wooden beams and the gabled roof, but provides for modern office needs in which open office space, a manager’s office, a meeting room, kitchen, toilet and porch are integrated. Not only does it supply these administrative functions, but it respects the environmental demands of the site by using pine wood in the interiors, reflecting the big pine trees on the outside.
