Kuwait Central bank is situated in Kuwait city at the old harbour not far from the Emir's Palace. The project was built for the Ministry of public works. The building is of reinforced concrete, its circumferential wall is faced with embossed concrete tiles. Other facades and roof surfaces are formed as jalousies and awnings, which hinder penetration of direct sunlight. In this manner the thermal movements in the structure are limited. Casements as well as jalouisies are of untreated aluminium. Awnings over roof surfaces and courtyards are of plastic. The building is fully air-conditioned.
