Khanqah Tarabulus
Tripoli, Lebanon
This unique monument in Tripoli is attributed to a lady known as al Sitt al Saliha (the Good Lady), who might have lived in it at some unknown date. The khanqah (house of Muslim mystics or Sufis) itself is of unknown date and patron although some sources date it to 1467.

The building is designed with an open courtyard and pool. The courtyard is surrounded by small rooms and a raised iwan, with an arch of alternating black and white stones. The arch is supported by granite columns. The monument occupies a total surface area of 330 m2. At present, it includes a mosque, a tomb, and few rooms that function as a hospice for poor widows.
