Bahau'd-din died in 1610, the same year as the mosque was finished. Local legend gives him the title "overseer of the works". He called himself "chunapaz", meaning "lime burner". He was probably the chunapaz not only in Jahangir's time, but also in Akbar's.
Located outside the palace complex, both buildings are small but important for their developments both in style and decoration, and because they are clearly different from the other buildings of Fatehpur Sikri.
