The market is situated in the southeast section of a triangular plot. The vegetable market is contained in an one-storey building, square in plan, and the facades of which are marked by large, rectangular openings to provide access to storage areas. The use of space and organization of various functions inside the building is determined by the presence of a large, open, central court. The court was conceived as the main trading area. The principal structural system is reinforced concrete frame and slabs, with infill of concrete blocks and bricks.
