Sakip Sabanci Museum

The creation of the museum complex for Sakip Sabanci Museum developed from the conservation of several  historic buildings. The residence building, known as the Atlı Köşk, or Equestrian Villa (built 1925, architect Eduard de Nari), was transformed with only minimal modifications, and the annex structures were converted into temporary exhibition galleries. The permanent exhibitions, which include the display of Kurans, prayer manuals and collections of Ottoman calligraphy, are held in the villa. The cascading garden, adorned by terraces, fountains, and sculptures, is designed to accommodate temporary exhibition.
