The programme requirement was for a 5,400 sq.m. single storage space for finished footwear, together with related office spaces for sales, distribution and shipping. Construction costs and running costs were to be kept at a minimum. Since the building does not have any artificial environmental control, special consideration had to be given to low-energy lighting and ventilation.
