Prefabricated housing designed to generate not only temporary shelter for the earthquake victims of 1999 but also, vitally, social rehabilitation activities -hence the inclusion in the programme of social and cultural centres, infirmaries, laundries, grocery stores, a library and administrative offices. The housing units each measure 40 sq.m. and are constructed of lightweight composite steel panels. They are arranged in blocks of four, each containing two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette and bathroom.
