The agricultural research centre consists of an administrative block, containing offices, research laboratories and storage, along with two accommodation units. A projected third block may be added at a later date. The mother-and-daughter design team have based proportions, details and plan type on precedents found in vernacular architecture, but interpreted them in a contemporary way. The reinforced concrete skeleton is covered with exposed RC slabs, while the aluminium frames of the roof system carry both transparent and opaque roof surfaces. The massing of the building as a whole attempts to capture the 'horizontal harmony of nature'.
