Garlick Avenue House
Singapore, Singapore

Garlick Avenue house is designed as a sanctuary for a professional couple. Its primary spaces are oriented away from the street towards layered views of a private rear garden. Living, sleeping and eating occur on a single ground-level horizontal plane, intersected by a body of water that runs in an east-west direction almost the entire length of the site. A study, gym and guest room are located on the upper level; the basement contains a garage and services. The structure is a combination of a concrete frame and lightweight steel. External finishes include timber, rendered masonry, travertine, painted steel and glass.
