I would start by saying that sometimes dreams start big, full of optimism, before they adjust to reality.' This modest project set out to be a 'pathfinder for helping to raise the income of craftsmen and women'. Though it has yet to achieve that aim, it nonetheless helps craftspeople to cultivate their talent by providing a marketing outlet for their work, a free lending library and courses in calligraphy, sketching, painting, embroidery and music. Its setting is a renovated early 20th-century courtyard house in an area slated for demolition for road construction.
