This master plan for this campus on the hills in the north, overlooking the Mediterranean prepares for an expansion to 5,000 students in the next 20 years through the construction of new buildings and the consolidation of existing stock, while reaffirming its identity as an academic village on a hill. The plan emphasizes pedestrian spaces and re-establishes the connection with the olive groves, hills and ravines that surround it. The ‘path of learning’ extends its presence throughout the campus, leading from the historic monastery to the faculty centre. To date, a library, engineering school and residence hall for women have been constructed, and connected by a network of outdoor public spaces.
