The Daw'an Mud Brick Architecture Foundation was founded in 2005 by the Iraqi architect Salma Samar Damluji. It is based in Wadi Daw'an, a priority area for its operations. The foundation sets up projects and seeks funding to "preserve and develop the architecture, urban culture and extraordinary local heritage" and to sustaining the natural, built, and economic environment of the area.
