This volume is part of a collection of thematic guides on Islamic Art of the Mediterranean published by Museum with No Frontiers (MWNF). The book is organized as a guidebook to 5 touristic itineraries, (Le Sahara, refuge ibadite; Les Hammadides et la naissance des villes fortes au Maghreb central; Alger : De la médina des Beni Mazghenna à la capitale de la Régence ottomane; Tlemcen, Nédroma, berceaux zyanide et almohade; and Le Touat-Gourara, patrimoine immatériel de l’islam maghrébin), preceded by a historic overview of Islamic art in the region, and a brief overview of Algerian history through the Ottoman period. It also contains a glossary, brief biographies of historic figures, and a bibliography.
This edition of the book is an incomplete, provisional copy that MWNF has made available as free download, pending publication in the autumn.
