Bank al-Maghrib, Agence Centrale
Rabat, Morocco
The original 1,842 m2 bank was designed in 1922 by Auguste-Alexandre Cadet and Edmond Brion.  The carved stone of the facade is the work of stonemasons Ahmed Benthami (Moroccan, 1931-2011) and Si Mohammed Cherkaoui (Moroccan, Active 20th Century).  In 1924 a second 3,582 mparcel behind the original was purchased, and the extension completed in 1930. The extension architect was Mourad Ben Embarek. The interior features intricately carved stucco and wood.
